Casino Birthday Party Planning

The other day this great idea popped into my head to host a get together for my Love's birthday this year. I have been wanting to have a function at the house and his birthday was the perfect excuse. Plus, with my daughter being away at school for her birthday this allows me to still have something to plan (her birthday is 5 days before his).

I was planning a ladies talk night for December, but I decided to postpone it until early next year. That way I don't have to worry about planning 2 functions so close; plus most of the ladies will be busy with holiday functions, including myself.

I love planning events and decorating for them. I even did all of the planning and a lot of the cooking for my own wedding reception. However, for my reception I did have a lot of help from friends and family.

Initially, I wasnt sure what the theme was going to be, if any, but I knew it would consist of family and close friends. Then it hit me, casino! He loves the Seahawks and he enjoys going to the casino, but since he has had a few Seahawk themed parties I figured this one would be different, so I chose a casino theme. One of his favorite casino games is craps, so I found the perfect craps set on Amazon for a bargain.

I have the menu and decor already planned out and a month to get everything in order. I usually start a few months in advance; but I have help so everything should come together nicely. With my mommy duty, school, and work schedules, I will have to squeeze in time where I can; but I will make it happen. The hardest part is almost all of the casino decorations I've seen come in red, white and black and he wants baby blue, white and black, so I plan on doing a lot of DIY. So I will keep you guys posted on the progress.

I'm trying to keep it simple but effective. I don't want to go theme crazy or anything but I want the night to be fun. Suggestions are always welcome.

Here is the menu so far:
Chicken Cheesesteak Sliders
Cheeseburger Sliders
BBQ Wings
Turkey Pepperoni Pizza Ring
Veggie Egg Rolls
Creamsicle Jello Shots
Coconut Ciroc Cupcakes
Fishbowl Punch (liquor)

Some of the decorations consist of:
Large Dice & Giant Card Props for photo booth
Foam Dice Centerpieces
String Curtains
Light Up Casino Sign (maybe)
Dice Shaped Goody Boxes
Spades Decals for front door
Fake Money (For guests to spend. The high roller receives a prize the end of the night)

So, that's the tentative plan but my mind is subject to change often. Keep in mind this will all be in the house so it will be on a much smaller scale.

And...It Is What It Is!
